HOME LEARNING FOR CHILDREN IF SCHOOL IS CLOSED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS

We have put together some activities for children to do at home if they are not able to come to school. I am sure that we all want your children to be happy, safe and still learning at this time.  It will also  help you to keep them occupied if they have to be at home for an extended period of time.

This page we will be updated with new work or messages at least once a week.

Please keep checking and keep you and your family healthy.

If you do any of these activities with your child at home and you would like to share them with us, please feel free to email pictures to n.nasir@northgate.djanogly.org for Zulu and a.webb@northgate.djanogly.org for Constance. We may not be able to reply immediately but will respond to your messages.

Days to remember...
We do PE on Monday mornings this term and where possible we will be outside for these lessons.

It is important that the children's PE Kits are in school and that your child has suitable footwear for these lessons (plimsolls or trainers). For their own safety the children are not able to do PE in their everyday shoes, boots or sandals.

Please make sure that ALL jewellery is removed on PE days.

Reading books and Reading Race Tracks should be in school every day. Can you please encourage your child to read everyday if possible, record this on your child's reading race track - as you know we are running a reading challenge this year so the more your child reads the sooner they will complete a racetrack and win a book.

Please remember, our door is always open if you have any questions about your child's learning and you are free to change the children reading books within the same book band.

Spring Term 2 - 2020

It would be fantastic if you could continue to support your child by practicing these on a regular basis and helping them to learn their 5x times tables. Don't forget to log onto Times Tables Rock Stars - it would be brilliant if Year 2 could win the competition for the most children using Times Tables Rock Stars this term! Our topic theme is still superheroes but we will be really creative and make superhero theme tunes and shields! We will then have some Geography lessons about the local area.

YEAR 2 SATS

During the last 2 weeks of May your child will be taking their SATs in English and Maths – these are compulsory for all children in Year 2 and we would request that you avoid taking your child out of school during this time.

To ensure that these are as stress-free as possible for the children the tests will be administered in small groups with an adult that they are familiar with.
