At Djanogly Northgate Academy we believe that Science enables children to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them through purposeful exploration and investigation.
Children are equipped with substantive knowledge, so that they have the foundational understanding of scientific ideas. They become scientists through the disciplinary knowledge they are taught, which teaches them how scientific knowledge is established and revised. Through disciplinary knowledge, they also learn to enquire scientifically, which is an invaluable skill.

The children will learn how to plan, conduct and evaluate experiments aimed at broadening their perspective of the world and how it has come to be this way. They will leave school having challenged any misconceptions that they may have held as well as have developed a lifelong curiosity about the world.
