PSHE

If children feel safe then they are happy and if they are happy then they will learn. This is our philosophy that is central to our PHSE curriculum.

Mental wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we do here at Northgate; children are taught skills and strategies based on the 5Rs: Resilience, Relationships, Respect, Reflection and Resourcefulness which allows them to maintain a healthy mind. Through this, children develop the confidence, talents and skills to become aspirational individuals that are motivated learners and active citizens of our community.

We want to prepare them for the next stage of their lives at secondary school by supporting them in becoming independent individuals that have initiative. As a school we use ‘Learning Powers’ and a ‘Growth Mind-set’ approach to learning; these principles underpin our PSHE and RSHE curriculum.
